Gyratory meeting

Presentation

Last night a meeting was held to discuss the planned removal of the Tulse Hill gyratory system. The meeting was held at the James Wilson Coffee Shop at 347 Norwood Road. It started with a summary of the various options being presented by an architect and town planner. We then divided into groups to discuss the benefits and shortcomings of four different approaches to removing the one-way system. Each approach involved the closure of one of the sides of the existing gyratory to all vehicles except buses and cycles.

Discussion

Within the room there was a clear preference for the option that involved the partial closure of the Norwood Road part of the gyratory.

The opinions of those present at this meeting will be collated and, together with the outputs from other local meetings, will be formed into a report to be presented to the council and to Transport for London. The consultation process will continue in the future as more well-defined plans are made.
