Thanks to the hard work of resident volunteers in over the last couple of years the estate is looking blooming lovely this spring.
Spring flowering bulbs
The bulbs planted over the last couple of years by PRERA, alongside bulbs planted by other resident volunteers are looking lovely this spring.

Wildflower patch
The wild flower patch in the middle of the estate is looking a lot more natural with the new fencing. Last year was it’s first year and that, combined with the dry spring, meant we didn’t see big results. But these things take time (especially on a shoe-string budget), and we hope that this year it’ll look a bit more established.

Wildflower meadow
The wildflower meadow on Bushell Close was hand raked by volunteers last autumn – not an easy task! – and Yellow Rattle Seed provided by Incredible Edible Lambeth was sown all over the area. Yellow Rattle seed is an annual plant used to create and restore wildflower meadows by weakening dominant grasses. It attaches its roots to nearby grasses, reducing their vigor by up to 50% and allowing more space, light, and nutrients for wildflowers to establish. Once the Yellow Rattle seed reduces the existing grass over the next year or two more native wildflowers will be introduced to diversify the meadow.
