Our splendid local park – Hillside Gardens Park – will soon be having various improvement works carried out, starting at this end of this month with re-paving of the footpaths. During the spring work will be carried out to improve the play area and the tennis courts.
A document detailing proposed improvements can be downloaded here. Mocked-up images of the new play area can be found here. The team planning the work are seeking feedback on the proposals by 2 February 2020. Feedback can be sent to Rob Kelly, the project manager at firstname.lastname@example.org. For more details see this letter and the Friends of Hillside Gardens Park website.
The Friends of Hillside Gardens Park are holding their annual sports day on Saturday 18 May. There will be events for all ages and abilities, including those who just want to drink tea and eat cake! Everything will be free of charge. Check out the picture below for timings.
The council have told us that they have £500,000 to spend in our local park, Hillside Gardens Park. They want a committee of local people to advise on how this money should be invested. Are you a user of Hillside Gardens Park? Would you like to get involved with this improvement project? There will be around seven meetings to attend over the course of a year. Get in touch to volunteer or find out more.
