Thames Water returning to complete their mains replacement works

Thames Water sent residents a letter this week informing us that they are returning to the estate this Autumn to complete their water main replacement works – “Completing connections and service transfers”.

The work on Coburg Crescent is part of Phase 3 and will commence “once the abandonment period from phase 2 has been confirmed successful around the 16th of October”. The work includes “completing the final cut and caps, which is done by severing the old mains from the network completely”.

Phase 3D Palace Road near the junction to Coburg Crescent:

Phase 3E Coburg Crescent next to 129 Coburg Crescent:

We understand that Phase 3 needs to be completed before Phase 4, and Phase 4 is scheduled to take place in the October half term school holiday from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November. Therefore Phase 3 will approx. be from the 16th of October to the 25th of October (hopefully only a couple of weeks this time!)

Bin collections on Coburg Crescent are scheduled for the 14th of October and the 28th of October, which should mean that collections will not be obstructed as occurred during previous works. Recycling collection on the 21st of October may be affected.
